Everyone loves a happy ending.  Here are a few of ours!

Kidd - June 2007

Jett Puff Marshmallow (formerly known as Brie)  -  ADOPTED

Brie was found as a stray by Animal Control of Paris, Texas.  They were uncertain as to his breed as he was matted, filthy, undernourished and not socialized!  Today, he has completed his training to be a therapy dog with his new loving owner!

And now!

His new mom, Donna reports:

"Oh, I can't believe it!  I knew ya'll had him for months before I adopted him. I kept looking at it, even just the 'after' pic and putting my fingers over the head and tail. The body structure was his. What a turn around he has made!  I have to say when I saw that picture I thought you had made a mistake and had gotten his story mixed up with some other poor poodle. He could never have looked that way.  My poor baby...but he’s spoiled rotten now. He is the best dog I could ever have hoped for.  Wonderful temperament and an amazing therapy dog.  He works with hearing impaired children and other school children.  He is the sweetest, most loving dog I have ever had.  I'm proud of what my baby has accomplished.  He is also doing well in his agility training."

Freedom (shown making friends with rottweiler, Rudy)- ADOPTED

"Freedom, a show puppy, came into rescue, and then my home, because he became seriously ill and was going to need special care for the remainder of his life, no stress and definitely no show career. Shortly after his 1st birthday, he came to live with me and the pack – 2 rottweilers, 2 Australian shepherds and a pair of permanent foster toy poodles.

Now just past his 5th birthday, Freedom shows no signs of his debilitating illness and is a bouncy, active standard poodle who delights in being friends with all who meet him."

Gabriel - ADOPTED

1 of 9 Standard Poodles received through the closure of a puppy mill.  Gabriel weighed 17 pounds when we got him and was fighting desperately for his life.  he spent his 1st Christmas with his new owner in a new home viewing the Christmas lights and enjoying the bounty of the season.  He truly is a blessed lil man!

Rex & Cuddles - ADOPTED

(Shown here with mom Kathy and Great Dane, Morgan)

"This pair was surrendered by their owner to rescue with the wish that they remain together. We weren’t quite sure why they were surrendered, but after living with the frenzied activity created by Rex (shown here sitting in my lap) and supported by playmate Cuddles (lower right), well, it became obvious. The toys are the smallest members of their new home and almost, by far, the most active. Rex still remains hyper and Cuddles lives up to her name as well as being the instigator of the active play!"

Toodles - ADOPTED

This is Louis, formerly known as Toodles. Toodles came to us from Fort Worth last Memorial Day. A good Samaritan on his way to church saw him being hit by a car - one that didn't stop. They took him to an emergency clinic and we took him into rescue the next day. His pelvis was severely broken and he had a very large burned area from the pavement or car on his side. After quite a long period of crate rest and an even longer session of wound care including hydrotherapy, most of his hair grew back and he is able to participate fully in life without a limp or any other obvious problems. He was adopted by his new owners, given a new name and a new haircut and a new life!

Hyram -  ADOPTED

Hyram, a male black standard poodle, came to PRNT because his family didn't have the funds to continue caring for him and several other dogs due to a family emergency. Since he was the youngest pet in the family, he was selected to be the one receiving a new home. He has been through obedience training, is housebroken and crate trained.  He loves playing with plush squeaky toys and has been known to jump on the table (all four feet) to retrieve a new poodle bungee toy. He's very friendly and loves to receive, and give, attention. He tolerates cats and likes almost all dogs.

Godiva -  ADOPTED

Probably between 2-3 years of age. She is a deep chocolate brown color and has a very refined bone structure.  She currently weighs less than 40 pounds. We acquired her in July from an area animal shelter. She is microchipped, spayed, vaccinated and has had a dental. She has been tested for heartworms and parasites. She likes to bark and can be intimidated by men.

Howard Huge -  ADOPTED

As the name implies, he is a super sized puppy, probably about a year old.  He was found with Godiva (see above) and may be her puppy. This dog wants to be owned by someone with a lot to give. He needs a lot of firm, kind training, and is very eager to be loved and to please. He does know 'SIT!' which is important due to his size.  He is not the dog for small children but would be great for older children and adults.

Aramis -  ADOPTED

Probably about 1 1/2 yrs old. He is a medium sized standard, about 55 pounds. He was acquired by Poodle Rescue in  January 2006, when a breeding facility was closed by the SPCA of Texas. He was tested for heartworms and parasites, was neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He was adopted by a family, who soon discovered they didn't have enough time or money to properly care for him. He returned to Poodle Rescue in September 2006. He needs a home with an owner who has a lot of time to spend with him.  He needs to get used to being in the house all over again. He is used to older children and a family.
